A hermit observing the world from his cave
Brittney Griner, a WNBA star player in the USA, was arrested in Moscow for breaking Russian law regarding the bringing of illegal drug substances into the country. She already pleaded guilty to a drug-smuggling charge. Now the Biden administration, under pressure to bring her home, has offered a proposal to this end, which many believe to be a prisoner swap—Brittney in exchange for Viktor Bout, a Russian arms dealer imprisoned in the US.
However, there is counterproductive narrative coming out of Washington. Secretary of State Antony Blinken keeps saying that Brittney was “wrongfully detained.” Such arrogance. She broke a nation’s laws, was arrested in accordance with those laws, and in fact already pleaded guilty. This arrogance is even quite hypocritical, considering how laws are openly being broken all over the USA, abetted by the current administration. Criminals are not arrested. Convicted felons roam the streets. Neighborhoods are burned down by mobs. Churches are vandalized.
What brings peace and security to a nation? It is the observance of just laws, especially with regard to suppression of criminal elements. What makes a nation strong? It is morality. Once morality goes, the decline of a nation is inevitable. For the USA, the lifestyles of many of its citizens have been decadent and immoral. It is a global center for the culture of DEATH. It is the purveyor of all things LGBT (Brittney herself is married to a woman). It pushes abortion on the nations of the world. Even the Church in America is complicit. It is generally pro-LGBT and keeps silent on pro-aborts, even giving them Holy Communion. Perversion is rampant.
Secretary Blinken, you want Brittney released? Try not to be arrogant and hypocritical.
There is one good side to this whole sordid mess. Brittney, under detention, has been drug-free for almost six months.
