THE WORLD AT AN END #212 -- Tight secrecy imposed on Synod participants, even after conclusion

This is chilling. This paves the way for the Vatican to manipulate and distort the results of discussions, and put forth its agenda from the very start. Is this synodality or the contrary to it?

How ironic that the Vatican regulations say this is "in order to guarantee freedom of expression.” How is there freedom of expression when you are not free to express what your participation has been?

But the regulations betray the intent, in saying that the confidentiality is “to ensure a serene common discernment.” In the first place, synodality, by which the opinions of anyone and everyone is solicited, assures the widest variety of opinions ever. There will be no common discernment. So secondly, who will decide on what is finally the “common discernment”? Of course it will be the Pope and his liberal hierarchs.

There will be no transparency. So again, is that synodality?
