Today’s reading: Romans 6:3-9
God sent Jesus into the world to save us. God wants everyone to be saved. For that to happen, we need to repent of sin and put our faith in Jesus. We are to experience metanoia, and “live in newness of life.” (v.4c). Metanoia and newness of life mean letting go of the old and avoiding sin. “We know that our old self was crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be done away with, that we might no longer be in slavery to sin.” (v.6).
This is how salvation has always been. But today, with modernists in our Church, this is no longer the case. Today it is just about accepting the sinner but not trying to get him out of his sin.
The gay person is told that he is born that way. If so, the implication is that God wills it and so there is no need to change.
Those in active homosexual relationships are given their own LGBT Masses and receive Holy Communion. Thus they are being told, through action and not words, that their sinful relationship is acceptable and so they can continue. So why will they stop their sodomy?
Those who are rabidly pro-abortion are accepted as devout Catholics and are allowed to receive Holy Communion. So why will they stop helping murder the unborn in the womb?
The whole modernist posture and teaching keep people in their grave sins! They even become comfortable in their sin. There are even those who celebrate their sin, as is manifest in Gay Pride events.
Pastors and hierarchs who are modernist are doing a great injustice to sinners. Instead of teaching the ways of God, they bury people deeper into the ways and culture of the world. Instead of helping people turn to Christ and live his way of life, they turn them away from Jesus, and even help them insult and degrade our Lord, as when they receive Holy Communion while in grave sin. Instead of being freed from slavery to sin, they are bound even more strongly to evil. Instead of helping them get to heaven, they facilitate their downfall into hell.
We need to die to our sins and be united with Christ. This is the only way we will make it to eternal life. “For if we have grown into union with him through a death like his, we shall also be united with him in the resurrection.” (v.5).
Reject modernism. Rebuke pastors who teach modernist values. Repent of sin. Live a new life in Christ.
